The Planet Rockers formed in 1989 in Nashville Tennessee. The members are Sonny George (vocals) Eddie Angel (guitar) Mark W Winchester (bass) and Billy "Thunder" Swartz (drums)

Their debut recording was "Coming in Person" released on the London label, No Hit Records, where they were label mates with Ronnie Dawson, Big Sandy and The Fly Rite Boys, Dave and Deke Combo and The Kaisers.

Their instrumental 45 "Rampage" became a DJ favorite on the European Rockin Scene.

The Planet Rockers formed in Nashville, Tennessee in 1989. Their first LP "Coming In Person" is now considered a timeless classic on the rockin' scene. Their instrumental 45 "Rampage" was a staple at record hops over the years.

The Planet Rockers' sound is a hybrid of rockabilly, blues, and hillbilly featuring the unique baritone vocals of Sonny George and the fiery guitar playing of Eddie Angel.

Sonny was born in Mississippi and grew up outside of Nashville listening to the Grand Ole Opry and listening to Elvis on the radio. North Carolina native Mark W. Winchester plays upright bass. He has toured and recorded with Brian Setzer and Emmylou Harris. Drummer Billy Thunder hails from California's Mohave Desert. Bill is considered one of the best roots swing drummers in America. Guitarist Eddie Angel grew up on the banks of the Hudson River. He honed his rock and roll chops playing with D.C. rockabilly legend Tex Rubinowitz. Eddie is also  founding member of America's instrumentalists Los Straitjackets and 60s garage rockers The Neanderthals.

The Planet Rockers have headlined rockabilly festivals around the world: Viva Las Vegas (U.S.A.), Greazefest (Australia), High Rockabilly (Spain), Hemsby (U.K.), Rockin' Race (Spain), Rockabilly Rave (U.K.), Let's Get Wild (Germany).
